Sarah Johnson focuses her practice in the areas of business law, corporate law, transactional law, real estate law, construction law, employment law and litigation, estate planning, elder law, and estate administration.

Sarah assists a diverse range of businesses with comprehensive legal solutions by guiding entrepreneurs and established companies alike through every stage of their business journey, ensuring they are well-equipped to handle the complexities of business law with confidence and clarity. From the initial formation of a business entity or purchase of an existing entity, to ongoing operational matters, Sarah offers expert counsel on a wide range of legal issues, including corporate governance, contract negotiation, compliance, intellectual property, real estate issues, and employment law. Sarah’s multifaceted experience allows her to provide holistic support, and emphasize not only on legal compliance but also strategic planning, empowering clients to achieve their business goals while minimizing legal risks. Whether helping a startup navigate its initial setup or advising established companies on regulatory compliance and operational challenges, Sarah is committed to delivering tailored solutions that align with each client’s unique objectives.

Sarah assists clients as either buyer or seller in transactions involving stock purchases or asset acquisitions including the structuring and negotiation of the transactions, performance of due diligence, preparation of other ancillary agreements and documents, and closing the sale. The vast experience of the attorneys of H&J allows Sarah to provide each client with a diverse team possessing the knowledge such complex deals require, including state and federal corporate law, tax, ERISA, healthcare law, securities law, and labor and employment law.

Sarah also represents businesses and individuals in a wide variety of real estate transactions including the purchase, leasing, development, financing, management, construction and disposition of all types of real property.

In addition to business and real estate law, Sarah practices in the areas of estate planning and estate administration, helping clients develop comprehensive plans to protect their assets and ensure a smooth transition for their heirs. Sarah also handles probate matters after one’s death to efficiently move the estate through the probate process in court and assist the estate’s representatives with any creditors and distribution of the estate’s assets.

Sarah is a native of Knoxville, Tennessee. She graduated from The University of Tennessee in 2005 with highest honors, earning a B.A. in Legal Studies. Sarah joined the firm as a legal assistant in 2006. She went on to obtain her J.D. with a concentration in Business Transactions from The University of Tennessee College of Law in 2011. Sarah is a member of the Knoxville Bar Association and participates in its Corporate Counsel Section.

Sarah is also committed to giving back to the community. She is a founding member of Smokin’ for a Cause, a Knoxville based nonprofit organization that supports families of children battling pediatric brain cancer.
